CAVE STORE (Official)

about

I wrote this song in 2020 and sat on it for a long time. Thank you for listening, friends. Like always, if you like the track and want to own a copy of it (or despise my music but still want to show your support) buying the track for a buck or two is always very much appreciated. Doesn't have to be on Bandcamp- but why not? You're already here. Thank you all for your support and kind words. I appreciate the increased interactions on the website, also. I will start posting more content there now. polarislandparkway.com

I should mention that Gopherwood' (the record I've spent the last two years schizophrenically working on) is almost done and I'll announce soon when it will hit stores. Keep an eye out- or an ear open. I've also finished a collaborative LP with Canadian Indie-emo / trap-pop (?) artist SIXTH. I am excited for you all to hear that, too.

Thanks for checking out this single, I appreciate it.
God bless,
Dev

lyrics

I recall listening to DIIV in the cave store & calling them 'Div'- what a stupid idiot.
I made my way down to the cave store & found a place of such amazing beauty; of such significance to me

I am not afraid anymore, I keep all the wolves at bay
And my door is open, unlocked and I am asleep
'cos no one will mess with me and nobody is brave enough to go up against the raging bull when on the fence sits a nation- an entire generation.

& I stood among the Asians taking pictures.
& I missed ya.

I hug the ancient walls and I stumble down the narrow hall with all my mental energy without a single enemy
and I reached paradise entirely without a vice- while knowing that the price I'd pay was to wake up normal every day-
without the shade of the cave
without the mist of the bay
and nothing to say

all I have to commemorate this permanent shift in my mental state is a patch on a jean jacket
Man, it's so whack that a shack in the golden state can reinstate my fading faith & be of such significance to me.
